We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Learning Partner and Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). Learning Partners and HLTAs work flexibly as part of the school team to support teaching staff with their responsibility for the educational, personal and social development of pupils. This dual-responsibility role involves supporting, planning, preparing and delivering elements of learning to pupils on a 1:1, small group or whole class basis to raise attainment throughout the school.

To undertake this role successfully you will need to be totally committed to the provision of a high-quality service to schools, working in partnership with teachers and the SENDCO to maintain a consistent approach to teaching and learning. You will have considerable experience working as a Teaching Assistant, including leading the delivery of whole lessons or elements of lessons during planned or unplanned teacher absences. You will be innovative with a strong focus on continuous service improvement, utilising scaffolding techniques to develop pupils’ independence, confidence and resilience to succeed. You will need to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues across the setting.

If you think that you have the skills and enthusiasm to carry out this role, we would love to hear from you. There is also the potential for an increase in hours in the future for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with classroom teachers and the SENDCO to maintain a consistent approach to teaching and learning across the school.
  • Provide direct instructional support for individual pupils, small groups or whole classes to supplement classroom learning and improve attainment.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver elements of learning or whole lessons under the general direction of teaching staff to support targeted lessons and PPA time.
  • Provide continuity by leading the learning for a class during the planned or unplanned short-term absence of a teacher.
  • Support teachers with the planning, monitoring and assessment cycle, providing systematic feedback on pupil progress and keeping accurate records.
  • Deliver brief, intensive, structured interventions that supplement classroom learning and ensure pupils retain access to universal provision.
  • Utilise scaffolding techniques to help pupils develop essential learning skills, fostering independence, confidence and resilience.
  • Conduct 'teaching triage' by roving the classroom to keep pupils on task, identifying those experiencing difficulties and flagging them to the teacher.
  • Meet pupils' welfare, pastoral and personal care needs through appropriate strategies that reduce barriers to learning and improve curriculum accessibility.
  • Build and maintain supportive, professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues while upholding the school's vision, policies and safeguarding procedures.

We can offer you

  • A fabulous working environment with children who really want to learn.
  • A friendly and successful school.
  • A growing school with dedicated and hard-working staff.
  • A positive learning environment.
  • Supportive staff, governors, parents and community.
  • Collaborative working within our Trust community to support our endeavours to work smarter.
  • Excellent CPD opportunities.
  • Access to wellbeing support.
  • 24-hour confidential helpline and counselling.
  • Healthcare cash plan.
  • Cycle to Work and Electric Vehicle Scheme .
  • Discount retail platform with access to hundreds of discounts.
