Flax Bourton Church of England Primary School is a one form entry school set within the North Somerset countryside. The school is approximately five miles from the city of Bristol and serves the villages of Flax Bourton and Barrow Gurney as well as the surrounding areas. We hold a strong sense of community here and partner with our families and the local church.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly skilled teacher on a Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave in our Reception Class.

The successful applicant will need to be able to show how they possess the skills and attributes to inspire pupils and ensure strong outcomes, continually improving their own practice in order to enable every child to be the best that they can be.

They will also need to work well as part of a team, especially as part of job share, and ensure the class get a quality first teaching throughout their week at our school.

Contract: Fixed term maternity cover for Reception class job share. Main scale, 0.6 FTE. FTC dates: 01/09/2026 - 09/05/2027 (or earlier if the postholder returns to work)

The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 29th March 2026.

Interview date is Wednesday 1st April 2026.
