Safeguarding Officer Vacancy| Madani Schools Federation
Madani Schools Federation is seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Officer (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead). This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised professional with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection to play a key role in ensuring the safety, welfare and wellbeing of our pupils. Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and senior leaders, you will help coordinate safeguarding practice across the Federation, ensuring that children receive timely, effective support and that statutory responsibilities are met.
As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will:
• Manage safeguarding concerns and records using CPOMS, ensuring accurate recording, timely actions and robust quality assurance.
• Work closely with pupils, families and external agencies to coordinate appropriate support and interventions.
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection Conferences, Child in Need meetings, Early Help reviews and Core Group meetings.
• Monitor safeguarding trends and prepare reports to support continuous improvement.
• Support vulnerable pupils, including those attending Alternative Provision and those in transition between schools.
• Promote a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
We are looking for someone who has:
• Experience of working within safeguarding, child protection or pastoral support in an educational or children's services setting.
• A sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.
• Experience of working effectively with external agencies and multi-agency safeguarding processes.
• Excellent organisational, communication and record-keeping skills.
• The ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and partner agencies.
• A proactive, resilient and child-centred approach to safeguarding.
