We are a Federation of two Outstanding schools for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, some with associated autism. Manor Mead is our Primary School for 4-11 year olds in Shepperton with a satellite provision in Virginia Water; our Secondary School is Walton Leigh, for 11-19 year olds.  Each school has been graded as Outstanding on our last three Ofsted inspections.

At Manor Mead in Virginia Water, we are seeking an experienced and motivated person to cover for up to a year, supporting the educational and care needs of the special children attending our school. You will work closely with the class teacher to enable them to meet the complex educational needs of our pupils and will model the very best practise. Senior Teaching Assistants are required to work core hours of 8.50am to 3.30pm and normally work under the direction of the class teacher. In the absence of the class teacher from the classroom, the Senior Teaching Assistant should assume responsibility for the class group. Senior Teaching Assistants, are required to carry out an additional 1hour 40mins during the week under the direction of the class teacher (classroom preparation of teaching resources). This time includes 20 minutes allocated to the weekly team meeting.

 

Salary: Surrey S5 £20,796 - £22,683 pa (FTE £26,777 – £28,686 pa) - 32.5 hours per week (exc lunch break), 39 weeks per year, term time only.

Start Date: 1st September 2025 or as soon as possible afterwards
