Teaching Assistant
32.5 hours per week
The hours of work are 8.30 am to 3.30 pm daily (with 30 minute unpaid lunch break), term time only.
1 year fixed term contract
Salary: RBK Points 3-5. Actual Salary £21,504 to £22,415 depending on experience and continuous service.
We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to join our excellent team of staff at this popular, caring school. We require an enthusiastic, flexible and good humoured individual to provide additional classroom support. The successful candidate must work well within a team, have a good rapport with children and remain calm under pressure. Our school is a Community School that is thriving, popular and conveniently situated for public transport. This is an excellent opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team and work with children who are motivated and enthusiastic about learning.
Some Responsbilities:
- Follow instructions and guidance from the classroom teacher to provide support for pupils, reinforcing their learning and ensuring their understanding.
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
- Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote independence.
- Provide positive praise and encouragement to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
- Encourage and model positive behaviour in line with the school’s policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own actions.
