The Attendance Administrator plays a vital role in supporting pupil achievement, wellbeing and safeguarding through the effective monitoring and management of attendance. At Mary Immaculate High School, we firmly believe that excellent attendance is one of the strongest foundations for success, enabling pupils to benefit fully from the outstanding educational and pastoral opportunities available to them.

Working as part of a dedicated attendance team, the postholder will be responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records, undertaking first-day response procedures, communicating with parents and carers, and supporting attendance interventions across the school. This is a highly rewarding role requiring professionalism, accuracy, strong communication skills and a commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will contribute directly to our mission of achieving the very best for all pupils by promoting a culture of excellent attendance, punctuality and engagement in education.

This role is centred on ensuring attendance information is accurate, timely and effectively used to support pupils. Key responsibilities include carrying out first-day absence procedures, contacting families regarding unexplained absences, maintaining attendance records on Arbor, preparing attendance data and reports, monitoring punctuality, and supporting attendance improvement initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with families, pastoral staff, safeguarding teams and senior leaders. Success in the post depends upon excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
