Fairfield High School is seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Senior Librarian to work 18.5 hours per week, has excellent knowledge of children’s literature and all aspects of managing a school library. This is a permanent post.
Our library is a well-resourced hub of activity where students are encouraged to develop a love and appreciation for reading. The role involves working with teachers to support learning across the school, supporting with library lessons by facilitating the use of Accelerated Reader, developing and promoting the library, ensuring that appropriate resources are available to support the development of whole-school literacy including the reading program, and maintaining a computerised library system. You will also line manage our two part time Assistant Librarians.
Salary is based on NJC scale 19 - 23, full time equivalent of £32,061 - £34,434 per year. Actual salary for 18.5 hours per week, term time only plus 2 Inset Days is £13,646 - £14,657 per annum.
