Meath Green Junior School is a three form entry Junior School who have a 'Good' Ofsted rating following our inspection in May 2019.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible Sports Coach, 20 hours per week (afternoons) term time only, to provide sports lessons for whole classes and support the school in maintaining and developing the school's reputation for sporting success as well as providing after school sports activities for groups of pupils.

The successful candidate will be capable of working both independently and as part of a team in our friendly, dynamic and successful school.

Purpose of Job

  •  To provide high quality and stimulating afternoon sports lessons for whole classes.
  •  To support the school in developing competitive and sporting (in their attitude and approach to competition) teams and attend and uphold sporting events and fixtures out of school hours.
  •  Provide after school sports activities for groups of pupils in a range of sports.
  •  To provide sports coaching and supervision at lunchtimes

Duties and Responsibilities - Professional Standards

  • To build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, staff and other stakeholders including parents, treating them in accordance with our agreed school values.
  • To demonstrate and promote a fair and positive sporting attitude in their behaviour with their peers and competitors.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues, and carry out the role effectively, knowing when to seek help and advice.
  • To communicate effectively with all stakeholders and to liaise sensitively with parents and carers.
  • To undertake school clubs and associated school fixtures in line with school expectations.
