Welcome

At Midfield we believe that outdoor learning helps children grow into confident and responsible citizens who value and appreciate the natural environment; helping them to make sense of the world around them by putting their learning into a meaningful context. Outdoor Learning is very much embedded and at the heart of our curriculum which embraces creating memorable learning experiences. We encourage resilience and positive attitudes to learning and set high expectations so that pupils can make the best possible progress, achieving their potential.

The arts, physical education, computing, science, the humanities and the development of character are just as important as Maths or English results, and it is through a combination of all areas that Midfield children are enabled to leave our school ready for the challenges and opportunities that await them. We want our children to become critical thinkers, to be resilient and resourceful, and to be able to work together to solve problems, and recognise that it is through the development of a relevant and interesting curriculum that these aims are met.

About Us

Our school is extremely fortunate to be set within large grounds overlooking Scadbury Wood Nature Reserve; it has its own Celtic hut, multiple forest school areas, an amazing sports field, edible garden, play area and swimming pool! Outdoor learning experiences are often remembered for a lifetime and the opportunities Midfield can provide are like no other that our staff have worked in. The site and facilities we have truly are exemplary and pave the way for us to create a fantastic curriculum offer.

  • Develop a thirst for learning, maintaining self-belief and inspiration to progress through the educational system;
  • Listen and communicate well and show an appreciation of diversity;
  • Understand that perseverance is the key to unlocking new challenges;
  • Take responsibility for their own actions and work collaboratively.
  • We aim to be a centre for truly excellent teachers, where quality leadership is extended to professionals in other schools and where members of staff are committed to their own learning journey and the sharing of quality practice.

Our Trust

The Spring Partnership Trust has grown rapidly from the founding sponsor relationship between Hayes Primary School and St Mary Cray Primary Academy to a group of five primary schools serving communities in the Hayes and Orpington areas of the London Borough of Bromley. Our Headteachers and senior leaders work closely together to continuously develop standards of teaching and the opportunities available to our pupils. We are proud to say that all our schools are happy communities where pupils and staff alike work hard, get on well together and want the best for each other.

Within our schools, we have many knowledgeable and skilled leaders who are experienced at leading education development. Our schools share a set of core values and principles which underpin our multi academy trust systems. However, we are committed to each school preserving its identity within its local community in order to serve local needs.
