At St Dunstan's School we have a bespoke Resource Base on site for children and young people with ASC who have an EHCP but who are unable to fully access mainstream education. The resource base allows students to be able to access a blended personalised and mainstream education.

We wish to appoint an outstanding Deputy Base Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Resource Base, Deputy Lead Teacher to be responsible for the quality of teaching, learning and progress of students based in the ASC Resource Base (The Arc at St Dunstan's School), analysing outcomes and looking for improvements in conjunction with the SEN hub team.

We are looking for a Deputy Base Lead who:

• Is able to work with students with SEND, who may be especially difficult to engage in activities, present more frequent behavioural problems and where the attention span presents greater challenges and a need for high levels of patience to attain individual targets

• Will work closely with the leadership team to ensure inclusive and personalised education for students in the Base

• Has the ability to deliver and achieve the highest standard of teaching and learning for those students with additional autism and communication needs

• Is an excellent communicator with an open and approachable manner

In return, we can offer:

• Students who are engaging and interesting

• Supportive families who want their children to achieve well

• A small team of key staff and the opportunity to build a broader staff team to support the work at the Base

• The support and challenge to develop an inclusive and mutually beneficial Base
