About Us:
St Matthias Academy is a special school that serves students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. We are dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. This role is a key part of our SEND provision, supporting the SENDCO to ensure pupils receive high quality, Inclusive support. At St Matthias Academy, we have three school sites, Fishponds, Brentry and Bath. You will be expected to travel between sites at times.
The Role:
We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking SENDCo Assistant to join our friendly school team!
What you’ll be doing:
● To assist in the running of the SEND department, to ensure that successful teaching and learning and development of the SEND department take place, thus extending the leadership of SLT. The postholder will work closely with the SENDCO to strategically design and oversee Learning Support and Inclusion initiatives across the school, proactively removing barriers to learning and deputising for the SENDCO in their absence.
