Hours: 2 per week, term time only. Additional hours available during high demand periods
Salary: Grade 5 and scale point range 11 - 17 £14.59 - £16.08 per hour, full time equivalent £28,142- £31,022 per annum, actual salary £1277 - £1408 per annum

We are seeking a Governance Professional (Clerk to Governors) to play a key role in supporting the strategic leadership of our school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is highly organised, discreet and motivated to make a meaningful contribution to school improvement and good governance.
About the Role
Working closely with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors, you’ll ensure our Local Governing Body runs smoothly and effectively. You’ll be the trusted source of governance advice, helping the Board to make informed decisions within a clear legislative and policy framework.
Your duties will include:
- Preparing and circulating agendas, papers and minutes for meetings
- Advising governors on governance, legislation and procedural matters
- Recording accurate and professional minutes of meetings and follow-up actions
- Maintaining up-to-date records of membership, terms of office and policies
- Supporting the induction and ongoing compliance of governors
- Ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and professionalism in all governance matters
- This is a part-time, flexible role ideal for someone who values independence and precision, with occasional attendance at evening meetings (around six per academic year).
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills
- Is discreet, impartial and professional in handling sensitive information
- Can meet deadlines and work independently with accuracy and attention to detail
- Is committed to continuous professional development
- Has experience in clerking, administration, or governance (desirable but not essential)
- Training and support will be provided, including the opportunity to complete the National Training Programme for Clerks.
