We are looking for a professional to support our teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners with specific needs.

The Role

As an EHCP Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the classroom and the wider school community. You will be responsible for:

  • Educational Support: Assisting with the planning, preparation, and delivery of lesson provision on both a whole-class and individual basis.
  • Pastoral Care: Ensuring pupils are supported pastorally, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Monitoring Progress: contributing to the evaluation of student progress and providing vital feedback to the class teacher to ensure all learning needs—and EHCP targets—are being met.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills who can work in tandem with our teaching staff. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Specialist Knowledge: A strong understanding of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and experience working towards specific educational and developmental targets.

  • Desirable Training: Candidates who are Thrive trained or have experience with similar therapeutic approaches to support needs of the individual pupils
  • Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively with other teaching assistants, teachers, SENCos, and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.
  • Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable: A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
