We are looking for an outstanding and inspirational English Teacher to cover maternity leave and work at our secondary site in Fishponds, Bristol. St Matthias Academy offers full time education for pupils who have been permanently excluded and for those at risk of permanent exclusion from schools across Bath & Bristol. MPS + 1 SEN or UPS (for a candidate with mainstream and SEN experience.)

For this post you will need:
- experience of and a passion for teaching English and at KS3 and KS4
- to be able to motivate and engage young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties
- experience in managing disaffected pupils with challenging behaviour
- to promote positive attitudes to learning
- excellent communication and organisational skills
- to be able to rise to the challenge with a smile
- an ability to work as part of a friendly and supportive team
