We are looking for someone who is nurturing, ambitious and committed to ensuring every child thrives and achieves their full potential.

Minehead First School is a thriving two-form entry first school, serving children aged 2-9 years in the beautiful coastal town of Minehead, West Somerset. Part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership, we were judged Good in all areas by Ofsted in February 2024 and are proud of our inclusive ethos, strong community links and commitment to ensuring every child belongs, discovers and grows.

The Role

As a Class Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, creating a stimulating classroom environment and promoting the academic, personal and social development of all pupils. Working closely with colleagues, families and support staff, you will ensure that every child is supported, challenged and inspired to succeed.

We are looking for someone who:

Is passionate about teaching and committed to achieving the best outcomes for all children.

Has high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development.

Can plan and deliver engaging, effective lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

Builds positive and productive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

Is committed to inclusion and ensuring that all children can access and enjoy learning.

Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider life of the school.

Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

Is reflective, motivated and committed to continuing professional development.

The role will include:

Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum.

Adapting teaching and learning to meet the needs of all pupils through effective differentiation.

Assessing, monitoring and recording pupil progress to inform teaching and improve outcomes.

Creating a stimulating, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Promoting high standards of behaviour, conduct and attitudes to learning.

Working closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to maximise pupil achievement.

Contributing to the development of curriculum planning, resources and schemes of work.

Producing reports on pupil progress and attending parents' evenings and meetings as required.

Supporting pupils' personal, social and emotional development.

Promoting safeguarding, health and safety, equality and inclusion at all times.

Supporting the wider life of the school, including educational visits, enrichment opportunities and community events.

What We Offer:

Enthusiastic, caring and curious children who are eager to learn.

A dedicated, supportive and collaborative staff team.

Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.

A highly inclusive school community committed to making a difference.

A school community built on our values of Belong, Discover and Grow.

The opportunity to work within the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership, a trust committed to excellence and professional growth.

If you are an enthusiastic, hardworking and ambitious teacher looking to make a genuine difference in children's lives, we would love to hear from you. Visits to our school are warmly welcomed.
