An exciting opportunity has arisen at Norton Hill Primary School, we are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant.
We have wonderful facilities which are on offer at Norton Hill Primary. Facilities include a superb sports provision, with two indoor sports halls, a dance studio, two large pitches for football and rugby and a hard surface sports pitch which has basketball, tennis, hockey, football and netball pitches. We specialise in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Role: Class Teacher - Learning Support Assistant
Location: Norton Hill Primary School
Start Date: 1st September
Hours: 10hrs per week, plus 1 inset day. Specific days to be discussed at interview, hours as follows.
8.45am - 3.30pm
8.45am - 12.30pm
Salary: Grade 4. SP 7 - 10
Actual salary: £5,800 - £6,120
Purpose: To provide targeted support for vulnerable pupils. To work closely with staff, pastoral teams and external agencies to develop strategies to promote pupils wellbeing and progress.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Implement strategies as directed by SENCo
- Support pupils in developing positive relationships, emotional regulation, and resilience.
- Liaise with staff and families
- Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment in lines with the school’s safeguarding and behaviour polices.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs or in a pastoral support role.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and staff.
- Understanding of Safeguarding procedures and child protection
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Thrive licensed practitioner
- Level 2 supporting Teaching & learning in Schools.
- Experience using specific behaviour interventions or tools.
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP Processes.
