An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone looking to make a move into teaching Mathematics at secondary level to join Writhlington School as a Teaching Apprentice.
The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme (TAP) is a nationally recognised, employment-based route to gaining QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). As a teaching apprentice you would be directly employed as a member of staff at Writhlington School throughout your training year. You will be a member of the mathematics department and will have your own classes from the beginning of your training year. Alongside teaching your classes, you will follow a full programme of initial teacher training through eQualitas, who are one of the leading providers of training for teaching apprentices. You will also have a comprehensive package of support through regular observations and meetings with your mentor within the Maths department and your eQualitas tutor, as well as training provided by the school and Trust Initial Teacher Training leads.
Writhlington School is part of Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership who have an established track record of success developing Teaching Apprentices into great teachers who have gone on to secure permanent teaching posts within the Trust. The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme is an excellent route into teaching and is especially suitable for candidates with some prior experience working in schools or with young people.
Successful applicants will:
Have an infectious passion and enthusiasm for Mathematics and problem solving
Have some experience of motivating, challenging and inspire young people to achieve their best
Be fully committed to developing their knowledge of teaching and learning through engagement with research and observation and discussion with experts
We can offer you:

A complementary placement in the spring term at another MNSP school to broaden your teaching experience.
A mentor within your Maths department who will observe you teach once per week and meet with you once per week to plan and support your development.
One training day per week, to follow the eQualitas programme of in-person and online training sessions and research tasks.
19 in-person training days with eQualitas at their training centre in London.
