MFL Teacher

Required from January 2024, an enthusiastic and ambitious Languages Teacher to teach French at KS3 and KS4. The ability to teach German would also be an advantage. Full time preferred but part time hours will be considered.

Buckler’s Mead is an ambitious school on the rise. Following a hugely successful summer where the Academy recorded the best results in its history we are now looking to recruit to key positions to continue this exceptional school improvement journey. Modern Foreign Languages is a highly regarded subject on the curriculum by staff and students. Over recent years, the subject has grown in popularity in KS4, resulting in the majority of students opting for a language as part of their GCSE choices. The department has also developed strong links with our Trust partners to develop the quality of MFL in the school. Moving forward, we would like to expand this further, offering more trips and opportunities to experience European countries, cultures and languages. We would also like to explore offering other languages as part of our curriculum offer.

The successful candidate should be:

• Hard working and fully committed to the ethos of the academy.

• Confident in teaching French at KS3 and KS4.  German would also be an advantage.

• Enthusiastic and willing to try new ideas, taking responsibility for new initiatives.

• Keen to support the teaching of excellence by improving student outcomes.

• Someone with sky high expectations of students, whilst fully appreciating the need to provide encouragement and support to students of all abilities.

• Capable of working with staff from all areas of the academy, external agencies and partner schools.

• Interested in continuing professional development.
