Teacher of MFL

Required for September 2024

Part Time (min 0.6) and Full Time considered.

MPS/UPS

Are you an inspirational, dedicated French teacher who is committed to raising student attainment? Do you consistently deliver good to outstanding lessons, track individual pupil progress and make effective use of structured feedback? Are you an intuitive, engaging and adaptable classroom practitioner who sets and keeps high expectations?

We are looking for a dynamic teacher with high expectations and standards who will motivate our students within and also beyond the classroom to learn languages.

You will join our enthusiastic and collaborative MFL department, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. All students study French at KS3 and follow AQA GCSE French. The ability to teach German or Spanish to GCSE would be an advantage. The position is suitable for an experienced teacher and a new one to the profession as well.

The Modern Languages Department has excellent resources including dedicated classrooms, each with an electronic whiteboard. We currently use a collaborative, centralised Scheme of Learning with well designed resources and set of assessments which are loosely based on the Conti curriculum. We also use a mix of interactive resources and have a dedicated set of Chromebooks for the department. We run a trip to Paris in July for our y8 students, thus broadening their horizons

Writhlington School is a good school with a strong reputation of putting the needs of our students at the heart of what we do. Recent academic outcomes have been strong and competitive, indicating excellence in teaching and learning. This also reflects our strength in relation to pastoral care as excellent outcomes are an indicator of happy, healthy and safe students.

The school values of Respect, Resilience, Ambition, Kindness, Confidence and Success enable our students to develop as future leaders in the community and further afield. Our consistent expectations on behaviour, attendance and the wish for our students to be ambassadors for our school are all driven through our values.

Writhlington School benefits from well resourced modern purpose built buildings, we offer both staff and students opportunities to get involved outside the classroom through a wide and varied range of extra-curricular activities, including a Combined Cadet Force, our world famous Orchid club, trips to Rome, Iceland, France, Belgium and many other trip and activities. Please see our website for more information.

If you would like to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking and supportive school environment, we look forward to receiving your application.
