Are you a passionate Early Years practitioner ready to take the next step in your career?

Welton Primary School is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Nursery Leader to join our team. Set in the beautiful Welton Valley, our school is proud of its semi-rural setting and incredible outdoor learning spaces—including woodlands, ponds, and a fire pit cabin—which provide a magical environment for our youngest learners to grow.

The role is for 35 hours per week - Term Time only.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting new opportunity to take a leading role in growing and developing our fantastic nursery provision. You will work in tandem with our teaching staff to make a real difference to the start our young learners get in life, utilising your passion for Early Years practice to shape the future of our setting.

Job Overview

As Nursery Leader, you will provide robust leadership of the Nursery. Your primary focus will be effectively managing day-to-day operations while ensuring the highest standards of care and education are delivered with a long term goal of developing the EYFS curriculum as part of a team. You will support staff with the strategic implementation, planning, and monitoring of Nursery provision and policies to ensure every child thrives.

Qualifications: A minimum of a Level 3 Childcare qualification (a teaching or Early Years qualification is desirable).

Experience: Proven experience of management within a nursery or Early Years setting, including staff management.

Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of EYFS practice, including statutory requirements, safeguarding, and SEND inclusion.

Skills: Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the wider community.

Why Join Us?

At Welton Primary, you will be a part of a friendly and welcoming team within the Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership.

Lead & Develop: Take a leading role in the Nursery’s development and strategic direction.

Professional Growth: Access to professional development opportunities to further your career. We work closely with BANES and regularly meet with the EYFS team to develop and enhance our nursery

Unique Environment: Work in a setting that values outdoor learning, with direct access to the Midsomer Norton Greenway and exceptional on-site outdoor facilities.
