Somerset Studio School is a unique and small specialist Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics school with students' pastoral care, educational needs and personal future aspirations at its very heart. We have a small team of 20 staff and just 139 students on roll, aged 14 to 19 years and we serve the communities of Radstock, Frome, Midsomer Norton and surrounding villages.
This role is crucial to the students, science staff and to the science curriculum: safe and accurate storage and preparation of materials for use in practical work underpins both Health & Safety and exciting, engaging curriculum activity.
As a small school, all employees need to be adaptable to the school’s varied needs and so other non-teaching roles will, on occasion be expected of the successful candidate, such as, supporting children’s learning in-class or bolstering administrative support during DfE census returns and data management.
A background of working schools would be particularly helpful in making the science technician provision the best of its kind, with training and qualifications provided as required by the role.
Full details included within the Job Description.
Somerset Studio School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
