Teaching Assistant

Full time* during the school day, Term Time only.

32.5 hours per week, 38 working weeks, 43.8 paid weeks.

Grade 2 - Actual Gross of £18,582 per annum

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team, either someone with experience or a willingness to learn and train. This post would suit someone who wants to help improve the outcomes for our SEND students and enjoys working with young people, with all the challenges and rewards that may bring. A core role will be to provide a high standard of pastoral care for students through mentoring and to give support to students, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement. Please refer to the job description below.

Hours of Work

Ideally we are seeking someone wishing to hold a full time position. However, we would also consider applicants able to offer a number of whole days a week. Please state clearly on your form the number of days you would be seeking. Hours of work are normally between 8.45 - 15.45 (with some flexibility) with some after-school meetings required. This is a term time position where the expectation is that you are available during the entirety of the school term.

Pay

The role is paid at Grade 2. As the role is term time only this means you would work 38 term time weeks. However, on top of that you are paid an additional 5.8 weeks in lieu of holiday. You are therefore paid for a total of 43.8 weeks per year, spread equally over the year. On top of this is the Local Government Pension of which the Academy contributes 24.4% of your salary each month into the pension. This is a significant benefit.

We hope this pack provides you with the information you need about this opportunity. However, we also welcome visits prior to application if you want to learn more about us.
