Main Purpose of Job:
To facilitate learning and progress of students with SEND.
To support SEND leaders and subject staff in ensuring high quality teaching and provision of
students with SEND.
To support subject staff in differentiation and meeting the needs of students with SEND both
within and outside of the classroom
To deliver programmes of study to small groups or individuals.
This could involve supporting students with physical needs and medical / personal care
2. Main Responsibilities and Duties:
To undertake as directed individual and small group work.
To support SEND leaders and subject staff in ensuring students with SEND consistently
make at least good progress across the curriculum.
To ensure all appropriate pupil records are maintained to a high standard under the
guidance of SEND leaders.
Be familiar with and incorporate Team Development and Action Plans into work practices.
To liaise with the subject staff, Subject Leaders, Learning Managers, parents, SEND leaders
as appropriate to ensure students make good progress.
To provide support to classroom teachers in ensuring their high-quality teaching meets the
needs of SEND students.
To ensure the relevant health and safety regulations are observed at all times.
Where relevant to support students on 1:1 basis personal / medical care as needed.
