Due to growth in our school we seek an inspirational, dedicated teacher who is committed to raising expectations and attainment through consistently well planned and delivered lessons, tracking of individual pupil progress and structured feedback.

Our English department values academic ambition and inspires students to become excellent communicators with wide ranging cultural awareness.

We seek an inspirational, dedicated teacher who shares our love of Literature and the English language. You will be committed to raising expectations and attainment through consistently well planned and delivered lessons, tracking of individual pupil progress and structured feedback. Your own passion for the subject will be evident in your lessons.

You will take responsibility for teaching English to Key Stage 3 and 4, with the opportunity for A-level teaching.

Writhlington School is a warm and welcoming place where students are happy and enthusiastic. Students show pride in their work and constantly strive to be the best they can. We aim for our students to be respectful, resilient, ambitious, kind, confident and successful individuals. The school is located on a large modern state of the art campus that benefits from exceptional media facilities, a 400-seat theatre and a Community Sports Centre.

New staff ideas are encouraged and there are endless opportunities to lead and to contribute to its wide range of extra-curricular activities: a large Combined Cadet Force, international links with China, Tanzania & Rwanda that support the 14-19 curriculum and an internationally recognised orchid project.

As a teacher with us, you’ll be part of a supportive and professionally rewarding environment, with a comprehensive package of national and local benefits tailored specifically for the teaching profession. We offer a competitive salary, along with access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, providing a secure retirement income and family protection. Your terms and conditions of employment are in line with the nationally agreed Burgundy Book, which provides a strong foundation of entitlements. In addition to these national entitlements, we also offer a range of local benefits that support your well-being and professional development, including:

A confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

Funded continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities

Cycle to Work Scheme

Free eye tests and flu vaccinations

On-site free parking and low-cost catering

If you would like to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking and supportive school environment, apply today! We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the closing date if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
