Starting from December 2026 or potentially earlier if required, we are looking for an exceptional Teacher of Mathematics to join our excellent Mathematics team to inspire our pupils and students in this high achieving state-funded day and boarding school for boys in the lower school and large mixed Sixth Form.
We are looking for a candidate with high expectations, dynamism and who will create a buzz and excitement both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to deliver outstanding academic results and exemplary classroom practice This position is equally suitable for an experienced teacher and one new to the profession.
The Mathematics results are very strong at Beechen Cliff. At KS4, we typically achieve 85-90% grades 9-4 each year (89% in 2025) and strong progress scores (+0.67 in 2024 - note no progress scores in 2025). At KS5, similar high attainment is seen with over 40% achieving grades A*/A each year (62% in 2025). The uptake at A’ level is very high with 55 students completing A’ level Maths in 2025 and 11 completing both A’ Level Mathematics and A’ level Further Mathematics. In addition 25 students completed Level 3 Core Maths.
The Mathematics Department is proud of the success of their students at both GCSE and A level, and of the many students who take their mathematical studies further at university. The successful candidate would be expected to teach Mathematics up to GCSE.
The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life, which includes sport, music, drama, outdoor activities, debating and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage.
