Teaching Assistant
Contract: Permanent, Part-time (18 hours per week)
Working Pattern: 3 days per week (8:30am – 3:00pm)
Salary: Grade 3, Scale Points 5-7 | Actual Salary: £10,489 (FTE £25,583)
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. Working under the guidance of our SENCO and teaching staff, you will play a vital role in enabling our pupils to access learning, supporting their social and emotional wellbeing, and assisting with classroom management.
Key Responsibilities:
Pupil Support: Implement EHCP requirements, attend to personal/welfare needs, and deliver tailored support for students with complex needs.
Learning & Interventions: Lead 1:1 and small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and ICT to help pupils achieve their individual targets.
Teacher Support: Assist with lesson planning, record keeping, and maintaining a purposeful learning environment.
Inclusion: Promote self-esteem and independence while ensuring all pupils are included and engaged in school life.
School Community: Contribute to the wider school ethos, including supervising pupils during break times and accompanying school trips.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Qualifications: Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) in Literacy and Numeracy.
Experience: Previous experience working with children (paid or voluntary) and a strong understanding of child development.
Skills: The ability to relate well to children and adults, a constructive approach to teamwork, and proficiency in ICT (Google Suite).
Professionalism: NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) OR at least 3 years of relevant experience with a willingness to undertake further training.
