Mildenhall College (of Technology) became an academy on 1st July 2013 with the Academy Transformation Trust.
Founded in 1976 and formerly an upper school with pupils aged 13-18 Mildenhall College took on two additional year groups in September 2012 under Suffolk County Council’s re-organisation of schools, becoming a community 11-18 (mixed) school. It currently has 1117 students on roll (155 in the Sixth Form). The academy operates across a split-site with Years 7 to 11 at the main site (Bury Road) and the Sixth Form in its own specialist Sixth Form Centre, MCA6, at Sheldrick Way.
Mildenhall College Academy serves a semi-rural area and over half of our youngsters travel to the academy by bus. In order to assist students who want to stay for after school activities, of which there are many, the academy provides free ‘late’ transport home.
Our team knows first-hand how to make education better for schools, pupils and their teachers.
For us, the future of UK education relies upon schools working closely together to share best practices, giving every child the best chance in life. We set up ATT to make this vision a reality.
As a not for profit trust, we work with our growing family of primary and secondary academies, and further education providers in the Midlands, East of England and South East.
Our mission is to provide the very best education for all pupils and the highest level of support for our staff to ensure every child leaves our academies with everything they need to reach their full potential.
