"Welcome to Minehead First School. We are a two-form entry school based on the edge of Exmoor, in the coastal town of Minehead and form part of Beacon Education. We cater for children aged 3-9 years, with our own Pre School onsite.

We are proud of the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the school, where children work co-operatively to achieve the very best they possibly can, in all areas of the curriculum. Our curriculum reflects and draws upon our unique locality to ensure the children have a strong knowledge of their local area and also equips them to understand and adventure into the wider world.

The size of our school means we can create an individual, caring environment whilst being large enough to offer a broad and balanced curriculum and a full programme of extracurricular activities. We are proud of the facilities that we have to offer, including a large sports field, swimming pool, art studio, computer suite and library. We offer breakfast and afterschool clubs, in addition to an exciting range of other clubs..."

Mrs Gemma Chapman - Head of School

Pre School education lays the foundations for your child’s school career. We spend time developing each child’s independence, confidence, resilience and curiosity. Our vision at Minehead Pre School is to welcome every child and their family into a safe and nurturing environment, where they are immersed in a captivating curriculum, that lays the foundations for each child to be a confident, lifelong learner.

We work closely with Minehead First School, providing children with a seamless transition into children's first year at school. Both Pre School and Reception are managed by myself and staff work across both settings, to support the children in their transition into school. We pride ourselves on having kind and nurturing staff.
