We are looking for a Casual Leisure Attendant to join our supportive and talented team at Monkton Wood Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning. The successful applicant will become a member of the CLF Leisure and Lettings team. 

The successful candidate must be over 18 - due to lone working and insurance purposes. 

This role is based at Monkton Wood Academy, Taunton.  

Working hours are flexible and vary depending on demand: 

Weekday shifts (Monday–Friday) usually start from around 4.30pm and can finish as late as 10.30pm. 

Weekend shifts can start from 8.00am and may run until 6.00pm. 

Any shifts lasting over 6 hours are split, allowing for appropriate breaks 

 

About Monkton Wood Academy:  

Alongside its work with students, Monkton Wood Academy operates a busy and developing Sports Centre, which opens to the public during evenings, weekends, and school holidays. The centre plays a key role in our connection with the community, offering a welcoming and professional environment for sports clubs, fitness classes, community groups, and private bookings. 

As part of the CLF Leisure & Lettings team, the Sports Centre aims to deliver a high‑quality experience for all visitors, ensuring safe, clean, and well‑maintained facilities. Our Leisure Attendants are central to this mission — supporting bookings, assisting customers, preparing activity spaces, and maintaining high standards throughout the site. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a customer‑focused environment, has an interest in sport and physical activity, and wants to contribute to a community‑centred facility. Training and development opportunities are available for the right candidate.
