About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Chamber Choir Conductor to lead and develop a committed adult ensemble. The successful candidate will combine strong artistic leadership with a supportive, inclusive approach to adult learning.
About You
You will have Proven experience in choral conducting, ideally with chamber choirs or small vocal ensembles, demonstrating high musical standards and stylistic awareness. A background in adult education, with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop singers of varying abilities in a supportive learning environment.
In-depth knowledge of choral repertoire, spanning a range of styles and periods, with the ability to programme imaginatively and appropriately for the ensemble.
Strong piano skills, with the ability to accompany rehearsals confidently and support musical learning from the keyboard.
Excellent rehearsal technique, including clear communication, efficient use of time, and the ability to address vocal technique, blend, balance, and ensemble cohesion.
Strong interpersonal skills, fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative atmosphere.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to plan rehearsals and contribute to concert preparation.
