Teacher of Design & Technology

Required from January 2025

Full time and temporary in the first instance

The Headteacher and governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology to join our forward thinking and thriving department.

The successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of core subject knowledge in Product Design, graphics, electronics, CAD and CAM techniques. The ability to contribute to the delivery Product Design and/or Creative Media up to GCE/Level 3 would be highly desirable.

The department is very well resourced with modern specialist workshops, their own CAD room, with 25 PCs, a Creative Media design suite with a further 25 PCs and a range CAM and 3D printing machines. Our staff form a hardworking and professional team who have a relentless focus on ensuring all students have a wide ranging and enjoyable experience within the department. Technology is a very popular option choice, where learners are offered Product Design, Engineering, Textiles, Construction and Creative Media at Key Stage 4 and Product Design, Textiles, Engineering and Creative Media at Post-16. Our students achieve outstanding results at all Key stages.

The post may be suitable for a newly qualified teacher with the relevant background or a more experienced member of staff looking to teach in a school that truly values Design & Technology with the opportunity to teach to A level / Level 3.
