Governance Professional

The Trustees of Mowbray Education Trust Limited are seeking to appoint a highly organised and self-motivated Governance Professional to support the Local Governing and Trust board committees. This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly around a calendar of scheduled meetings - most of which are in the evenings - but some of the work will be carried out at home or in one of the Trust schools.

About the Mowbray Education Trust

The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 3,500 children from the age of 2 to 18 in Leicestershire. The MET currently has two secondary schools, five primary schools and one preschool: with potential numerical and geographical growth in the future.

Committee meetings are held in person and remotely, travel to various venues will form part of the role. Access to transport and willingness to travel is therefore essential for a potential governance professional joining the Trust.

Role

Accountable to the Executive Lead for Governance and Compliance, you will have experience of clerking meetings, including the preparation of agendas, taking of minutes and distribution of information.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as knowledge of governance procedures and legislation to enable you to provide advice to the Local and Trust board committees.

You will be required to clerk Local Governing Committee and Trust Board Committee meetings (approximately 18 per year) across a number of schools and ad-hoc meetings as required.

Further information

The remuneration package includes a competitive salary, generous annual leave entitlement and contributory public-sector pension scheme:

• Salary from £26,427- £27,807 per annum FTE, dependant on experience

• 200 hours per year (equivalent to 5hpw, term time only, you will be paid an equivalent amount of holiday within your monthly salary)

• Local Government Pension Scheme membership available
