Mulberry Park ET Primary School is part of Educate Together Academy Trust. The School’s Local Governing Body is looking to appoint a clerk to support them in their work.
This post can easily fit in with other commitments. Hours are worked primarily during term time. Apart from attendance at meetings, the role can be carried out from home, at times of the day to suit the post-holder (within agreed deadlines). The post could easily be combined with other posts, including clerking roles in other schools.
The post is a part-time position, covering 6 Governing Body meetings per academic year. The clerk is expected to provide 15 hours of support for each of these meetings. Local Governing Body meetings are usually held on weekday evenings, a mixture of in person and virtual meetings. Therefore it is a total of 90 hours per year.
The clerk to the governors is central to the smooth running of the governing body: preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, offering administrative support, keeping records and giving procedural and legislative advice to the governing body. Clerks must have excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills, as well as an ability to take accurate minutes at meetings. To help the successful applicant fulfil their role we expect them to attend all relevant training events and the Clerk’s Network meetings. We can also offer coaching in the role.
We encourage applicants not familiar with Mulberry Park ET Primary School to visit our vibrant and friendly school. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.
The salary is ETAT Grade D which is £22,734 pro rata. The hours rate is £11.63 per hour
Closing date is 9am on 6th December.
Interviews will take place shortly afterwards via Zoom .
