You’ll visit learners in their work placements, assess their practical abilities against CACHE (Council in Awards for Care, Health and Education) standards, and ensure their progress is documented to the highest level. By helping learners transform knowledge into strong evidence portfolios, you’ll play a key part in their achievement. You’ll also build meaningful relationships with employers, champion innovative assessment methods, and provide constructive feedback that motivates learners to reach their goals. From setting clear targets to ensuring workplace Health and Safety compliance, your expertise will make a real difference. Representing the College at external forums and collaborating with internal verifiers will showcase your professionalism and commitment to excellence.

This role will be located at Poplar Campus, Tower Hamlets Campus with an excellent transport links. The nearest station is Poplar DLR, just a short 3–5 minute walk away, with Blackwall and All Saints stations also close by. Students travelling via the Tube can connect to the DLR from major stations such as Canary Wharf, Bank, or Stratford. Several bus routes, including the D6, 15, 108 and 115, stop near the campus, making it accessible from many parts of East and Central London. The area is also cycle‑friendly. While driving is possible, parking is limited and local roads can be busy, so public transport is generally the most convenient option.

Key Responsibilities:

You will assess learners against CACHE awarding body standards for the Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification. You’ll check Health and Safety compliance in workplace environments and assist learners with action planning for evidence collection and portfolio building. Representing the College at external forums may be required, along with supporting employers and supervisors who provide work experience or training. Your work will contribute to continuous improvement and uphold the College’s commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity.

Who You Are:

You hold the A1 Assessor Award and have recent relevant industry experience. You are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and understand the challenges faced by those working or seeking to join the education sector. Flexibility is key, as the role may require working outside regular hours. You are committed to equality, diversity, and safeguarding, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
