The Role:

As a Lecturer in Electrical Installation at New City College, you’ll be at the heart of shaping the next generation of skilled electricians. You’ll deliver engaging lessons and hands-on practical sessions across a variety of courses, from beginners to advanced learners, including City & Guilds 2365, 5357 & 8202 Level 3 Electrical Installations. Your role will go beyond the classroom: you’ll mentor students, design flexible training programmes, and collaborate with employers to ensure our learners are job-ready and future-focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and assess accredited Electrical qualifications, including City & Guilds 2365,5357 & 8202 Level 3, both on campus and at employer premises.
  • Deliver engaging lessons and practical sessions that develop learners’ knowledge and vocational skills.
  • Act as a personal tutor/course coordinator for a designated group of students.
  • Design and implement flexible training programmes aligned with awarding body requirements.
  • Liaise with employers, awarding bodies, and internal teams to ensure high-quality provision.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and maintain accurate course records.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and safeguarding in all aspects of teaching.

Who You Are:

  • Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition certification.
  • Relevant teaching qualification (PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Assessor qualifications (A1) desirable; V1 award advantageous.
  • Experience delivering electrical qualifications, ideally including City & Guilds 2365.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and high standards 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To teach and assess learning on a range of courses, which include 16-18s and adult learners. Courses range from level 1 up to level 3, including college based qualifications and apprenticeships.
  • To work effectively as a member of a experienced, strong and dynamic team, liaising with Senior Curriculum Manager and all colleagues in the College.
  • To take an active role in own professional development in relation to all aspects of your industry specialism as well as your teaching/assessing role.
