The Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our Supported Learning team at our Ardleigh Green campus. In this pivotal role, you will lead a small group of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), ensuring that learners with special educational needs receive tailored, high-quality support that empowers them to succeed and flourish throughout their educational journey. The campus is easily accessible by public transport, with Gidea Park Station nearby and several bus routes stopping directly outside, parking is available on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a small team of Learning Support Assistants.
- Develop and maintain individualised support plans and risk assessments.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to support staff.
- Liaise with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
- Support learners with personal care, medication, and physiotherapy needs.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, annual reviews, and learner progress tracking.
Who You Are:
You are a compassionate and proactive individual and have a solid foundation in learning support, holding a qualification in supporting learners with learning needs or disabilities would be a valuable asset. You bring experience in providing personal care and demonstrate a genuine passion for inclusive education. You are confident in leading teams, mentoring others, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, individualised support. You have extensive experience of communicating with both internal teams and external agencies to formalise and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support plans, and ensure the accurate coordination of pupils’ medication and therapy needs Whether coordinating support plans, contributing to annual reviews, or stepping in to cover support needs, you are organised, adaptable, and driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in learners’ lives.
