This is an exciting opportunity to support learners in gaining meaningful industry experience, developing workplace-ready skills, and building the confidence they need to succeed in their careers.

As our Work Experience and Employer Engagement Lead - Construction and Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in connecting education with industry. You will develop strong partnerships with local, regional, and national employers, creating a range of opportunities for students to gain valuable hands-on experience and insight into the sector.

This varied role combines employer engagement, partnership development, and student support. You will have a direct impact on student success while helping employers connect with emerging talent.

Key Responsibilities:

In this rewarding role, you will:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to secure high-quality work experience placements and industry opportunities for students.

• Engage with businesses through networking, outreach, and partnership development to expand and strengthen our employer network.

• Coordinate and oversee the work experience programme, ensuring placements are meaningful, safe, and aligned with industry requirements.

• Support students throughout their placement journey, helping them maximise their experience and achieve their career aspirations.

• Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to embed employer engagement and industry experiences within the Construction and Engineering curriculum.

• Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve the effectiveness of work experience and employer engagement activities.

• Promote industry collaboration through projects, guest speakers, careers events, mentoring opportunities, and other employer-led initiatives.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is committed to supporting young people in achieving their ambitions and progressing into successful careers.

You will bring:

• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• A proactive and solutions-focused approach.

• The ability to build effective partnerships with a wide range of employers and external stakeholders.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• A commitment to delivering positive outcomes and meaningful experiences for students.

• Experience in employer engagement, work experience coordination, recruitment, business development, education, or a related field would be advantageous.

Most importantly, you will be motivated by making a positive difference and enjoy creating opportunities that connect students with employers and future career pathways.

Why Join Us?

At New City College, you will be part of a forward-thinking and ambitious organisation dedicated to transforming lives through education. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful industry partnerships, support the next generation of Construction and Engineering professionals, and make a lasting impact on students' futures.
