Welcome to Neston Primary School, hidden within a beautiful village set in the Wiltshire countryside.
Every child in our care, every colleague, every parent and every governor has a strong drive for the school to be the best that it can be. Our pupils and community are proud of the school where all members of our partnership are valued and aim to offer all children the best possible start in life.
We have outstanding new facilities, a broad and creative curriculum and a team that values building relationships and trust with its families. Pupils show a love of learning, exploring and discovering both in the classroom and beyond and the school has outstanding personal development opportunities.
Gary Risdale | Head Teacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Everyone is unique. There are similarities of course but nevertheless we are all wonderfully diverse in terms of our character, our abilities and our passions. As a result school has to be a place that meet the unique needs of each individual child. We help children discover their natural talents and allow their passion to flourish. We support them and guide them as they develop the all round character necessary to become the very best of themselves. We don't do this with rigid systems that standardise the process. School isn't a factory where children go in one end and come out the other fully prepared for life. This isn't something you can force, but rather we need to cultivate the perfect conditions in which children can thrive and achieve their full potential, as learners, members of a community and as people.
Our children have dreams, and as they set out on the adventure of a lifetime it is up to us to make sure they have the skills, the character and the confidence to follow them. The passage below is not just intended for the children but a promise that we all make to each other, children, teachers, parents and family. We're all going on this adventure together and we wouldn't have it any other way.
The school was built in 1861 as Corshamside School and enlarged in 1885.
It began life as an elementary school and when Corsham Secondary Modern School opened in 1955, it was the only Corsham school to retain some of its older pupils for a time.
In the 1930s a garden area and outhouses were built by pupils attending the school. This lovely, scenic area which is hugely popular with the current pupils is affectionately known as the 'Sunken Garden'.
In 1997 the building was enlarged, including a mezzanine platform built into of one of the original classrooms and the school grounds were also extended.
The school celebrated its 150th Birthday in the summer of 2011 with a fantastic day enjoyed by pupils past and present. The school is the heartbeat of the village community and everyone came out to support the school in celebrating the past with an event that included performances from the children as well as fairground attractions in the grounds.
Most recently, in the summer of 2013, the school has undergone further extension with the addition of two amazing new classrooms, including a purpose-built Early Years provision classroom with a free-flow playground, a new office for the Head Teacher and a large, spacious area which encourages group learning.

As a group of twelve Church and Community Schools across South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire we want to formalise our collaborative model of working. We believe that as a family of schools forming a Trust we can achieve:
Deliberate and purposeful collaboration which strengthens and builds capacity at all levels.
A strong, highly skilled, and resilient trustee and governance structure which focuses on enabling and empowering people.
School environments where all children, particularly those that face disadvantage can flourish and where equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging are front and centre.
Professional growth and development that creates cultures and communities of improvement.
A sense of civic duty underpinned by the Charitable status where we can benefit from sharing our learning but also learning from others.
Financial stability through robust systems and structures.
We are a strong family of schools that serve diverse communities including two of the most deprived wards in South Gloucestershire and schools that are faith based, rural and small. We would want to work alongside the Diocese, Local Authorities and Academy partners as the Trust grows and develops.
