The main site at Newbridge Junior School has three buildings, one for year 3 which also houses the library, another for years 4 and 5 and a small building which houses a meeting room and offices. The school has three halls: an assembly/lunch hall, a gymnasium and a carpeted hall which is used for interventions, drama and special events. We also have special rooms for Cookery, Art and Music, many i-pads and 3 class sets of laptops all with internet accessibility.
Outside, we have 2 large playgrounds and a ball court which is used for PE. There is also a large environmental area which includes a pond and dipping platform. We have a climbing frame to use at lunchtimes and an outdoor story area with enough seating for a whole class.
The Bridge has 5 classrooms for Year 6, a library and a working hub for interventions and small groups. The playground wraps around the building and has a ball games area, a raised stage and plenty of seating.
At Newbridge junior School the children, parents and carers, staff and governors have a common vision of ensuring that everyone can ‘Be Their Best’. We encourage six core values which reflect a passionate commitment to learning and recognition of the uniqueness of individual learners.
Our six core values are:
The Thinking Schools Academy Trust, ranked the best multi-academy trust (MAT) in the country for the performance of its secondary schools by the DfE, is made up of a family of schools that work together to “improve the life chances” of all our children and young people. We share a common mission to nurture successful children who are confident and can think and act independently. Our cognitive approach to education defines us but does not create a “one size fits all”.
At the heart of The Thinking Schools Academy Trust is the belief that the work that we do must transform the life chances of students.
We believe that the best way to transform life chances is to actively shape the minds, attitudes and habits of young people through a framework of cognitive education that enables them to become the master of their own destiny.
