This role is available either part-time, term time (18.5 hours per week) or full-time, term-time (37 hours per week). Please state in the shortlisting questions what size contract you are applying for.
An Evolve Key Worker is a mentor, motivator and all-around champion for young people aged 16-25 with EHCPs. In this role, you'll:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to young people with complex learning differences, disabilities and social, emotional or mental health needs
- Help learners build essential life skills, from budgeting and cooking to navigating public transport and preparing for employment
- Support students in achieving their RARPA targets and qualifications, working closely with teaching staff to tailor learning plans
- Be a trusted adult, a steady presence and a role model for resilience, independence and self-belief
- Keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, completing reports, risk assessments and contributing to programme development
To apply, you will need:
- A recognised qualification in youth work, mentoring or guidance (or a proven record of this line of work)
- Experience supporting young people with a range of difficulties and disabilities, including autism, mental health challenges and behavioural needs
- A calm, empathetic and creative approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently (you will often be lone working)
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (sometimes you'll be going the extra mile - literally!) (mileage is paid through expenses)
