From script to screen - and now to the lecture scene!

We're looking for a committed and creative Lecturer in Creative Arts (Film & Media) to join the Sixth Form team. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your subject expertise to life in a college that values innovation, collaboration and student success. It's more than a teaching role! It's a chance to shape the future of young creatives, helping them develop their voice, technical skills and confidence in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

As a Lecturer in Creative Arts, you'll play a key role in delivering and developing A-Level Film and TV curriculum, with the potential to also teach A-Level Media Studies. You'll:

  • Create, design and deliver engaging and relevant learning experiences that spark curiosity and critical thinking that blends theory with hands-on practice.
  • Support students' academic progress through thoughtful assessment and feedback, helping them refine their creative and analytical skills.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement, ensuring courses remain current, inclusive and support learners to achieve their goals.
  • Participate in college life, including meetings, events and quality assurance activities.
  • Use industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro to support student learning.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages experimentation, collaboration and critical thinking.

You need:

  • A degree in Film Studies, Media or a related subject.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification, equivalent or be willing to work towards in employment.
  • Strong subject knowledge and experience and teaching Level 2 and 3 qualifications.
  • To be confident using creative software such as Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro and Microsoft tools.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusive education.
