What you’ll do:
- Lead safeguarding investigations, taking accurate statements and handling disclosures sensitively.
- Liaise with students, staff, families, and external agencies to manage cases effectively.
- Produce detailed investigation reports and maintain accurate records.
- Provide ongoing welfare checks and well-being support for students.
- Represent safeguarding at Mental Health Support Plan meetings and multi-agency forums.
- Deliver advice, guidance, and safeguarding training to staff.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the Support Hub, promoting continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (training can be provided).
- At least 3 years’ experience in safeguarding/child protection or a related field (youth work, social services, counselling, youth justice, etc).
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, referral systems, and best practice.
- Strong communication, empathy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to flexible working hours if required.
- Level 2 English, Maths, and ICT (or willingness to achieve).
