Located on the outskirts of the rural market town of Newent; about 10 miles north-west of Gloucester city, and with magnificent 38-acre site and impressive sports facilities, Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre are seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal with a proven track record. Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre is an 11-18 comprehensive academy with c 1150 students currently on roll.
The successful candidate will support and assist the Principal by providing dynamic and professional leadership and management to reflect ‘policy in practice’ by sharing and modelling the school’s vision and values in everyday work and practice; developing and motivating staff, setting high expectations, embedding learning and teaching strategies and raising achievement, contributing to rigorous and on-going self-evaluation and taking responsibility for leading specific areas/initiatives to secure further school wide improvements.
The Assistant Principal (Diversity and Wellbeing) will have the specific responsibilities including:
- To monitor progress and standards throughout the school and ensure that challenging targets are set as a result using national data as a minimum expectation.
- To ensure high standards of behaviour, attitude, appearance and attendance throughout the school.
- To provide leadership, management and development of the Pastoral Team.
Working with Senior Leadership Team colleagues the Assistant Principal will lead on students’ personal development, leadership, behaviour and well-being across the School, developing a strong culture of diversity and inclusivity across the School.
