An exciting opportunity for passionate, dedicated, motivated and innovative Teacher to join our well-established Geography Department. We are looking for an inspirational teacher who meets the Teacher Standards, with the ability to create a nurturing learning environment, together with a committed to bringing out the best in every student.

The successful candidate will teach Geography to KS3 and KS4 in the first instance with the potential for teaching KS5. Geography is not only up-to-date and relevant, it is one of the most exciting, adventurous and valuable subjects to study today. So many of the world's current problems boil down to geography, and need the geographers of the future to help us understand them.

In addition to teaching Geography, the ability to teach Humanities to KS3 is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for staff to join our team who are passionate about improving students’ life chances and capable of contributing to a highly effective and supportive teaching team and our extensive enrichment programme.

All staff have access to a computer and we are committed to developing Visual Learning with classrooms having digital projectors and interactive whiteboards.

This position is suitable for an appropriately qualified teacher and will provide the successful candidate the possible opportunity to teach across all key stages. This post would be suitable for ECTs, as the department has close links with a number of ITT providers, and experience in mentoring colleagues new to the profession.

We continue to be a good school, as confirmed by Ofsted following their visit in March 2018, offering a high quality of education with recent observations recognising that our students are making strong progress in the majority of subjects.

In addition it was rightly observed that our students feel safe, and are safe, in school. This is achieved by the school’s culture of care and vigilance. All staff are firmly committed to ensuring that every student achieves their full potential.

Our fantastic report is a real vindication of our drive to develop confident, well informed and caring young adults who have self- belief and fully participate in their local, national and international communities; the school provides a wealth of additional opportunities for students to achieve these aims.

We are a popular and successful mixed 11-18 rural comprehensive school with c. 1100 NOR, situated ten miles north-west of Gloucester city, within three miles of the Herefordshire border. We are a high achieving school at the very heart of our community. We have a strong tradition of academic success within a positive and caring learning environment based upon mutual trust and respect.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the on-going journey of the School working with ambitious and aspirational staff.

You are more than welcome to contact the school if you would like an opportunity to discuss this vacancy and arrange a visit. The closing date for this role is Friday 28th April 2023 with interviews taking place during the following week. However, please note that where the school receives an exceptional response, shortlisting and interviews may be arranged prior to the closing date by mutual agreement. If you would like any further information, please feel free to contact me.
