Newham College London, now merged with NewVIc Sixth Form College, is the largest post-16 education provider in Newham. With campuses in East Ham, Stratford, Plaistow, and the London City Institute of Technology (LCIoT) in Canning Town, we serve over 11,000 students across a range of pathways – including 16–18 study, adult education, apprenticeships, and higher education.

The Role.
We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Exam Assistant to join our Exams team. You will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of examinations and assessments across Newham College, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with awarding body regulations.
Key responsibilities.
- Coordinate and administer examinations, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations and JCQ guidelines.
- Schedule exam timetables and manage room allocations in collaboration with curriculum teams.
- Process exam entries, results, and certificates, maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
- Support students and staff with exam-related queries, including access arrangements and post-results services.
Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage deadlines.
- A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach.
- Experience working within an educational setting.
