The Governors of Newport  High School are looking to appoint a permanent Teacher of Business/ICT with a TLR2b (approx. £5,443 pa), Teaching & Learning Progress Lead in the area of Explore.

We are looking for a talented, passionate , committed and highly motivated Teacher. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for their subject and also be able to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities.

Our Explore Area of Learning is made up of the subjects of Humanities and ICT. An area which seeks to awaken a sense of wonder, fire the imagination and inspire learners to grow in knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Humanities is central to learners becoming ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world. In contemporary and historical contexts, investigation and exploration of the human experience in their own localities and elsewhere in Wales, as well as in the wider world, can help learners discover their heritage and develop a sense of place and cynefin. It can also promote an understanding of how the people of Wales, its communities, history, culture, natural environment and landscape, resources and industries, interrelate with the rest of the world. 

Job Purpose:

To teach students within the school and be an outstanding classroom practitioner.

To raise standards of student attainment and achievement and monitor and support student progress.

To carry out such other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by the Headteacher
