The Role:
We are seeking to appoint a full-time Childcare Assessor
Key responsibilities;
To work in such a way as to contribute to student retention and achievement rates, by visiting placements regularly and on going. You would need to visit, observe and assess candidates in their place of work to ensure their work meets national occupational standards for working with children as required by NCFE. To visit, observe, assess, grade and complete assessment reports of students’ competencies and structured observations to the national occupational standards required by NCFE within the workplace. To record students’ progress and action plan with teachers and tutors as part of the course requirements. To contribute to the NCFE programme assessment plans, procedures and working practices. To liaise and communicate with the work experience team and NCFE teaching team regarding placement visits. Regularly update by email to all parties to build on teamwork.

The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open mind-set and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop our learners and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners
This role is an exciting developmental opportunity for an appropriately qualified lecturer to gain further skills in this area.

The salary for this position is inclusive of London weighting. Please note that it is Newham College’s policy to offer all roles at the entry point of the salary scale advertised. However, based on your qualifications and experience, we may offer a higher starting salary within the specified salary range.
