Lecturer in Business

Where you’ll work: This role is based at either Dartford or Tonbridge, but the nature of the work will require travel to any of the College sites as required.

Your hours: Full-time or Part-time hours, 52 weeks per annum.

Your pay: Spine Point 32 (£31,794) to Spine Point 37 (£36,859) rising to a ceiling of Spine Point 40 (£40,287) with a full teaching qualification.

North Kent College (including Hadlow College) is proudly rated as an Ofsted ‘Good’ provider, with ‘Outstanding’ learner behaviours and attitudes (April 2024). With four campuses across Kent and 4,000 students, we strive to equip the young people who study here with an inclusive and innovative education experience to enhance their future career prospects, which, as noted by Ofsted, is supported through our high-quality, industry standard facilities. Each and every staff member plays a key part in delivering the success of our learners’ experience, and we want those who join our curriculum and support teams to share our passion in achieving this.

Working within North Kent College’s Business curriculum area, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitability qualified, experienced and passionate individual to join the team as a Lecturer in Business.

You’ll be required to prepare, teach and assess at a variety of qualification levels, providing support and guidance to your learners as they progress through their studies.

You’ll have specialist knowledge of the curriculum area, which may be enhanced by any relevant industry/professional experience, as well as a formal qualification that underpins this knowledge.

We need you to be a team player and an excellent communicator, able to maintain a proactive approach and an eye for detail whilst working to challenging deadlines.

Teaching experience, particularly within Further Education, would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Likewise, although a full teaching qualification (at Level 5 or above) isn’t required at this stage, however, you would need to secure this within 3 years of appointment.

In return, we’ll give you 42 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and you’ll be enrolled onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme which also includes life assurance. You’ll also benefit from free parking and have access to a range of onsite facilities including a nursery (Dartford and Gravesend campuses), gym, restaurants and coffee shops.
