We are looking to recruit an experienced teacher to join the outreach team.
North Star 360° has established itself as an outreach service with primary schools in the north of Bristol and beyond. Feedback from schools’ centres around our supportive, non-judgemental and informative approach.
As we have developed, our remit has become more focused upon providing support to colleagues in the short term with the long term aim of building understanding, confidence and capacity within our schools and to reduce permanent exclusions.
Our work is varied – working with children on a 1:1 basis within mainstream schools and in out ALP, liaising with and supporting staff teams, supporting training where appropriate as well as working with parents and outside agencies.
We are looking for a teacher with:
• A thorough knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice, particularly in relation to SEMH
• Experience of working with children with a diverse range of additional needs – including SEMH, Attachment difficulties, ASC and Speech and Language difficulties
• An interest in supporting with our expansion into secondary schools where secondary experience would be desirable
• A commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team
• A passion for inclusive practice
• The confidence and ability to liaise with a number of colleagues from different settings and agencies to joint plan strategies and support with proposed next steps
This is a unique post which offers the chance to be part of a dedicated staff team with a strong commitment to inclusion and support. A flexible, problem solving and creative approach is an essential requirement for this post.
Due to the need to be deployed in schools across the area, the ability to drive and have your own transport is a requirement of the post.
