The Head Teacher and Governing Body of Maesmarchog Primary School wish to appoint an inspirational, motivated and supportive Deputy Head Teacher who will not only play a key role in our children’s educational journey but will be an integral part of the school community.

We strongly believe that the links we establish with the parents and carers of the pupils at Maesmarchog Primary are a key ingredient to the happiness and success of our pupils, and it is this philosophy that we are committed to. The school aims to give all pupils the best opportunity to demonstrate their potential within a caring environment. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and passionate about children and their learning, and keen to join a friendly and hardworking team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the dedicated head teacher and supportive governing body in leading school improvement and driving standards of achievement for all pupils.

The successful candidate will:

• be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong commitment to raising pupil achievement and is able to lead by example

• be able to work alongside the head teacher and governors to develop a clear vision and culture for the school

• be able to show evidence of strategic planning which has contributed to school improvement

• be able to provide effective curriculum leadership, interpersonal skills and able to motivate and inspire others

• show a commitment to develop the mental, emotional and physical well-being of pupils for improved learning

• be able to understand the importance of the school at the heart of its community

• be an outstanding teacher with a sound knowledge of ALN and ALN transformation

• have excellent organisational skills

• be able to keep detailed records

• be able to work to deadlines

• be committed to ensuring the very best experiences for the pupils
